What to expect in the room
Pod brewers dominate. A Keurig-style single-serve machine is the default in mid-range and upper-midscale rooms, with a small drip brewer and carafe still common in extended-stay and older properties. Electric kettles are genuinely scarce outside extended-stay brands, which catches out visitors from Europe and Asia. Free lobby coffee is a real institution at mid-range chains. The machine is rarely the problem; the pod that came with it usually is.
